Wednesday, Day 5: Got HOPE?

We met with Chhavellit this past week, Director of Community Outreach at Sihanouk Hospital Center of Hope. It's basically a home-care and community support program for HIV/AIDS and TB but they also have a housing program and see other patients as-needed. We will be working with him and his team for at least 2 weeks to gather information and see if we can plan a formal needs assessment to start a more structure "Social Work" department in the hospital. We are going with his team next week to a rural village for a latrine dedication of 100 toilets to 100 households - a project they helped coordinate with a partner NGO. I think it will be a very special day.

Did I mention the Blue Pumpkin where we ended up for drinks/dessert?! It's a posh cafe overlooking the river when you lounge on white couches... like Beverly casual... sort of ridiculous but cozy: (photos of me giving lap dance not included...)
